2014 Letters to Santa

Dear Santa,

My whole family gets into Christmas every year. We wrap presents with pretty bows. The christmas tree has at least one ornament on every branch. On our Christmas tree we have  an angel instead of a star! We always make cookies, sometimes we even put icing on them! We even lay out vegatables for the reindeer. Sometimes we give small presents but they don’t care about the size. I go to my grandmas’ houses to have lunch or dinner and I eat like a king. My mom and dad let my little sister Leslie and I open one present on Christmas Eve, while we open the rest early Christmas morning. We drink hot chocolate with extra marshmellows instead of eggnog. When it snows, my neighbors, my sister, and I go sledding down hills and roads. We have lots and lots of fun every year. We have huge snowball fights when it snows. Sometimes we even go parents vs. kids. Before we do go against each other, we build a snow fort, it will protect us or we can take chunchs of and throw them at my mom and dad. One reason why I really like snow is because if it’s bad enough school will let out. It is real funny to watch my two dogs play in the snow and then attack it! Plus last year when I was sleding with my neighbors, I took a sled, got on my stomach, and sled down the hill. Oh what a sight it was.

Sinceraly,

Erin Phillips

Dear Santa,

My family has a lot of family traditions for Christmas. At the beggining of December we all pick people for secret santa. Secret Santa is where we put all our names in a hat then who ever we get we have to buy them a present for them. We open the gifts on Christmas Eve. Speaking of Christmas Eve, we always watch the Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. Then after the movie we set out cookies and milk for Santa. Around 3 in the morning, GG, my little sister, wakes us all up. We open the ones under our tree around 6:30. My mom makes us 2 Christmas breakfeast (Pancakes). My brother gets Grandma. We eat lamb, asparagus, and mash potatoes for lunch. My Grandma opens her gifts that we get her. We get her chocolates and carmel. Then we open our gifts that fives us. Thats all my family tradition for Christmas.

Sincerley, Garland S.

Dear Santa,

One of my family traditions is decorating the Christmas tree! We set up the tree and put ornaments on it. We put a bow on top of it instead of  a star. Then we put a tree skirt on the bottom where the presents go. The night before Christmas we watch Christmas movies, go to church, drink hot chocolate, and eat cookies. We leave the tree lights on all night so you can see where your going. We go to bed and we can’t sleep because we are so excited for Christmas morning. I know its hard for me to sleep! We wake up the next morning and we open all of our gifts. Then family comes over for breakfast. My mom makes the best breakfast casorole ever! We visit with our family. We laugh, talk, and show what we got for Christmas. We have a big lunch at my grandparents. We come home and hae fun with all our presents. Christmas is my favorite holiday!

Sincerly,

Presley Weldon

Dear Santa,

I am going to tell you some traditions my family do every year. We go to pick out a Christmas tree. Then we put Christmas lights, decorate it with orderments, and the youngest child, my sister, gets to put the star on top of the Christmas tree. Also every year we go to the galaxy of lights. On Christmas eve we go to my grandparents for them to give us our presents, and when we get home we stay up drinking hot chocolate while watching Christmas movies. Then we each get to open one presents. After that we put out milk and cookies for Santa. When everyone wakes up we open our presents. After we finish opening our presents we go eat Christmas dinner with all the other family. That’s some traditions my family do.

Sincerly,

Hannah T.

Dear Santa,

I am going to tell you about my family’s Christmas traditions. Most years we always put up lots of lights and wreaths with lights on them. This year since we have a roofed back patio we decorated the front and some of the back yard. After we decorated all the extireour we start to put up all of our inireour decorations. This year we have four chrismas trees. There is one big tree, two miniture trees, and one tiny tree. One of the trees is white with red and silver decorations on it for Alabama. We put up lots of things that relate to Christmas. On Christmas eve we all go and sit in the living room and drink hot chocolate. We also watch ABC Family because in December they play christmas movies. On christmas day I woke up and wake up my mom and dad so we can open our presents. While we do that we turn on Christmas music. After we opened all our presents we go to my grandma and pop’s house to open more presents. We have a great time doing all of these things. Those are our Christmas traditions.

Sincerly,

John Michael Sosnowich

Dear Santa,

Christmas is the most magicial time of the year. Many people have many traditions like decorating their houses, eating cookies with hot coco along with it, and going to buy presents. Those are just a few but here are some of mine.

The first tradition we have is decorating the house. We pull out all of our Christmas decorations from either the attic or the basement. All of our Christmas decorations are usually in the basement because we do not want them dirty and dusty. When we finally get our millions of decorations out, we have some minor repairs on the wreaths and the ornaments. The next tradition me and my family do is go to Children’s Hospital. We deliver cookies, crayons, and coloring books. About five years ago, my brother went to the hospital with an infectin in his foot. He spent about ten months, and he also spent Christmas in the hospital. I barely go to see him because I spent all ten months at my aunt’s house. We are grateful for those nurses that they helped my brother get better and that’s why we go down there to give those things. All of the children are so happy when the nurses bring crayons and coloring books to them. We just want to give back to the nurses and the children.

The last tradition our family does during Christmas is we all get together Christmas Eve. Everybody comes over with food and we all get together to eat. After we all finish eating, we grab gifts and play “Dirty Santa.” We pile all of the gifts into a clump, pick a number out of a hat, and start playing the game. After that we sit around and talk, or we watch Frosty the Snowman. Everybody cleans up and they grab anything that belongs to them and leaves. There are a ton of different traditions but those were just some of mine. I hope you got my letter and I can’t wait for you to come on December twenty-five!

Sincerly,

Payton Preuitt

Dear Santa,

My favorite family traditiens was when we went over to our couisins house on christmas eve. It was one of the best family traditions of my life, Because we ate delicious ham, turkey from thanksgiving, backed beans, rolls, everything delicious. And the fun thing was we had a roll fight, everyone of the family members were chunking rolls all over the room. We do this on thanksgiving, Christmas, and sometimes Halloween. Another Christmas tradition is when we put up lights all over the house and all over the tree. I like this tradition because I like to help my parents put up the lights. And putting up the stockings too, my dad let’s me nail the stocking to the wall by the fireplace. And my mom let’s me bake cookies with her, and we put all kinds of chocolate chips on them. Then Santa comes late at night.

Sincerley,

Carter Borden

Dear Santa,

My family has a whole bunch of traditions here is some. Every year my family goes to see the Galaxy of Lights. We go to Whataburger after that. We always help put up Christmas ornaments on the Christmas ornaments on the Christmas tree. On December 23 we always go to my Mimi’s house and order seventy-five peices of chicken from Chick-fa-la. We turn on the television to the music channel and listen to some Christmas music. We pick the college football games, but to enter you must pay five dollars to the pot and if your’re the person who wins the most games you get all the money! We always got to myAunt Mira’s house to eat lunch, Supper and Play Dirty Santa. then on Christmas Eve we go to my Mimi’s house again. We play football on Christmas Eve too. We open the gifts at Mimi’s house. We always go youngest to oldest, so I get to go second to last. And also on Christmas Eve we play Dirty Santa at my Mimi’s house. I have to play with my mom because you have to be sixteen or older to play. Our family from South Dakota comes every year. After we open presents at my Mimi’s house  we always burn the wrapping paper. At my house we always put this countdown to Christmas thing. that is all of my family traditions.

Love, Avery Balch

Dear Santa,

My family has some special traditions for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve we go to my grandma and grandpa’s house and we all play games. We all have a bid Dirty Santa game in the living room. After we all have played our games and had fun we open all of our presents. We then go home and bake cookies. After we eat our cookies we go to sleep. The next morning I wake up early and bug my parents until they get up. Everyone in the house gets up and we all take turns opening presents. We all get dressed and ready after we play with our stuff. I then go to my dad’s house for about for about two hours and then we go to my grandmothers house. We all play a game, eat some food, and then open presents. So as you can see these are of my families traditions.

Sincerely,

Cayden Davis

Dear Santa,

Santa I wanted to tell you my familys Christmas traditions. My family always plays yateez it’s so crazy how much we play. It’s always funny when we fight over the oderments to put on the tree. On Christmas eve my mom makes the best coco in my opinion anyways. We sit in the living room watching Christmas movies, and than we read the bible story. The funniest thing to me is that my brother is older than me, and he still comes into my room screaming, “Christmas Christmas it’s time to open presents!” When my mom hears one of us up and were not suppose to be up she scares us half to death. Usally my mom makes us dress up Christmas morning because of pictures. My favorite part about Christmas morning is the joy, love, and happiness that I can feel going around the room. Now don’t get me wrong I like the presents but the joy, love, and happiness dose it all for me. I hope you liked my letter Santa, and have a very merry Christmas

Sinselry,

Brianna Ward <3

Dear Santa,

I have family traditions every year. It’s always nice to see family again and get along.

First, whe go to the party room to set up streamers, ballons, trees, and table supplies.

When everyone gets here, we eat cookies, cupcakes, fruits, and family foods.

Next, we play games. One common game we play is Sloppy Santa. The adults buy a funny gift, wrap it up, and put a number on it. If the number is pulled out of the box, you claim your prize. Last, we open our presents! Usually, they get cool toys, clothes, and cards. Then we wrap up everything and leave.

Sincerely,

Ellie Nash

Dear Santa,

This year my wish for Christmas is more than a present. There are so many less fortunate people in this world. These people don’t have enough money to buy expensive presents, homes, and in some cases even food.

When we think of Christmas we don’t think about these things. We think about presents, goodies, fun, food, and having the biggest and the best present of all. I mean, yeah we enjoy having presents and food and stuff, but does anyone ever- think about the others that can’t have these things?

My family is very blessed to be so fortunate because we- are able to buy the things we want. I mean we’re not rich by any stretch of the imagination at all!

I’m not trying to ruin Christmas in any way, but it’s just something to think about. If y’all have any old toys that are leftover and can’t use you could donate them to Salvation Army, Good Will, Toys for Tots, and other charities.

Just something to think about this holiday season.

Sincerely,

Kennedy Coan

Dear Santa,

Christmas is my family’s favorite time of the year. Not because of the presents under the tree. It’s because the joy of the time we get to spend together. Like decorating the Christmas tree, or decorating the house. We watch Christmas movies, and fill the house with nice-smelling Christmas Candles. On Christmas eve me and my cousins celebrate by going to each others houses with gifts for each other. We start off by eating a wonderful Christmas eve dinner. Like hame, mashed potatoes, and yummy mac and cheese. When we get to full, we will just get a piece of chocolate cake. After we eat, we sit down and watch a movie together. So about the time the movie is over, it’s about eight. That’s when parents play some cards, so we get on the computer and track Santa! When we usually check Santa is in Georgia or close to that. So we turn off the computer and go get a drink or we play hide and go seek. By ten we have to go home and get ready for bed. By the time we are home, we brush our teeth and lay down. Usually I can’t fall asleep thinking about tomorrow morning.

Before you know it, it’s Christmas morning. We jump out of bed and go to the Christmas tree. So this is how we spend our Christmas. I hope you enjoyed listening to my tradition.

Sincerly,

Brooke Nelson

Dear Santa

My Familys tradition every year for Christmas is to put up a tree and to decorate it as a family. My sister and I decorate it with both traditional glass ornaments and ones we’ve either made in school or our baby first Christmas ones.

We always put our tree up a couple days after Thanksgiving maybe about a week.

My favorite Part is definately decorating. We always love to be creative when decorating. My sister and I have colored lights to put up around our rooms. We have a countdown, a glass Christmas present with lights inside. One thing that we do every year is Put up candy canes on the tree. We buy normal peppermint ones and flavored ones like cherry or fruit punch maybe.

Usually we end up eating one a day in Our family but its all switched around with all four of us.

I absolutely love Christmas decorations they are just so beautiful when they fill the night sky and light up peoples faces so you can see their smile. Chistmas is AMAZING!

Sincerely,

Breanna Eddy 🙂

Dear Santa,

My family has a Christmas Tradition of going to Arkansas and Lousianna. We have Christmas here then we go to Arkansas and I get my presents there from my other grandparents. Then I go to Louisanna and have Christmas up there. But this Christmas won’t be won’t be all that great because it will be my first Christmas without my dad to help me open presents and stuff. I still have my cousins up there so im still in this. I hope you bring me something I wanted. Then we will have a big feast. Then when I get back to Alabama me and my family will go to the Galaxy of Lights and go look at other people lights around my neighborhod and others. The best thing is eating chocolate pie and drinking hot cocoa. We might even go to East Highland Baptist Church’s Christmas Carol Concert. They sing every song in the book. You name it they sing it. I can’t wait for this year’s Christmas.

Sincerly,

Easton Brant Mcallister

Dear Santa,

My biggest wish is to give the people who can’t come home this time of year a (almost) proper Christmas. They deserve to be able to wake up with things from home. Their families can send them their presents. They can call their family, and videochat them, but I wish as many as possible veterans can come home for Christmas.

I personally don’t actually believe in Santa Claus, but I do believe families should be together for Christmas.

I don’t want so many veterans deployed during this season.

I hope they get to see their families.

Sincerly,

Emma Sue Carnes

Dear Santa,

Every year my entire family gather at my grandparents for Christmas. Family from all over the country comes to celebrate with us. Sometimes if it’s not to windy, we’ll have an enormous bondfire. Christmas is usually the one time a year that my entire family gets to see each other at the same time, so we spend it wisely.

Every year, all the children get gifts, and the adults play a game of “Secret Santa” so we all have a really good time. My cousins and I sprinting through the field playing tag and hide and seek. Sometimes it’s just nice to play and be free from school and stress and just life for a few days. We always enjoy ourselves during Christmas. I guess it’s just the Christmas joy in the passing from heart to heart. That, Santa, is how my family celebrates Christmas.

Sincerely,

Aubrey Anderson

Dear Santa,

My wish for Christmas, beyond a present, is that a cure for all types of cancer could be found. I will tell you the reasons why. One, many people die from cancer everyday, and it changes familie’s lives forever. I wouldn’t want them to go through that. Also, my uncle died from pancreatic cancer in 2012. It was just after we got out for Christmas break. We went over to the hospital to see my dad and family. Everyone was sad, including myself. I couldn’t believe that in just a few weeks, my uncle was there, then he was gone. Also, Mrs. Burks, who was a 6th grade teacher at my school, died from cancer. That devestated her family. I wouldn’t want them to go through that again. I would love to give the people who have cancer a cure so their families won’t have to suffer again. I also give honor to the families who have suffered through loss of family members with cancer. Again, my wish for Christmas, beyond a present, is that a cure for all types of cancer could be found.

Sincerely,

Ty Bragwell
