Priceville’s season ends with first-round series loss to Deshler

Priceville’s season came to an end in the first round of the 4A state playoffs with two heartbreaking losses on the road at Deshler. The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 2-1 in game one and followed that up with a 2-0 win in game two to sweep the series.

Pitching dominated the series, as both teams combined for only seven hits and five runs.

Game one: Deshler 2, Priceville 1
The Tigers scored two runs in the final inning to get a comeback win over Priceville in game one of the two teams’ first-round playoff series last Thursday. Jake England had a double and an RBI in the loss. Colman Gann took the loss, his first of the season, after allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five.

Game two: Deshler 2, Priceville 0
The Tigers plated two runs in the top of the ninth inning and held on to defeat Priceville 2-0 and end their season. Jaidan Gordon had the Bulldogs’ only hit. England took the loss after allowing two runs in 1.1 innings of relief. Tyde Borden got the start and went seven innings, allowing two hits while striking out eight.
