Lady Bulldogs, Lady Patriots win regular season area championships

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs added another regular season area championship after defeating East Lawrence 11-5. The Lady Bulldogs finished undefeated in area play and will host the area tournament.

Kelsey Green led Priceville with three hits and three RBIs, while Madison LaFountain added a hit and three RBIs. Elizabeth Murphy earned the win with three innings of relief of starter Maddie Black.

Priceville 2, West Point 0
Murphy had a dominating performance in the circle to lead Priceville to a 2-0 win over West Point. Murphy pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only one hit while striking out nine to get the win. The Lady Bulldogs got RBIs from Green and Katee King to give Murphy all the run support she needed in the victory.

Priceville 14, West Morgan 0
The Lady Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 14-0 win over West Morgan in area play. Wrozlie Barnett had a home run, a double and four RBIs to lead Priceville to the win. Gracin Prater added three hits, two runs scored and an RBI, while King had two hits and two RBIs. Black earned the win with a complete-game one-hitter while striking out four.

Brewer 4, Glencoe 4
Annabelle Anton had a hit and two RBI in the Lady Patriots’ 4-4 tie with Glencoe on Saturday. Cadence Lott added a hit and an RBI.

Brewer 4, Dale Co. 3
Brewer scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth and then scored the game-winning run on a Makenzie Irmen triple in the bottom of the fifth. Irmen finished with two hits, an RBI and a run scored, while Keylyn Stapler had three hits and an RBI. Ava Walls added two hits. Gracie Lawrence pitched five innings and struck out six to get the win.

Brewer 7, Belgreen 0
In a family battle, the Lady Patriots and coach Braeden Netherton defeated her step-father Sander Tverberg and his Belgreen team 7-0. Brewer scored three in the first and four in the second to cruise to the win. Stapler led the Lady Patriots with two hits and three RBIs, while Walls added a triple and two RBIs. Karli Staton allowed three hits and struck out four to earn the win.

Brewer 6, Arab 1
Ava Walls blasted a three-run home run to lead Brewer to a 6-1 area win over Arab. Lawrence and Breia Rusk each had two hits, while Lott had a hit and two RBIs. Lawrence earned the win with a complete game, allowing one run on six hits while striking out five.

Brewer 6, Cullman 4
The Lady Patriots scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to break a 4-4 tie and then added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Cullman 6-4.

Keylyn Stapler led Brewer with a hit and four RBIs. Taylor Pellem had three hits and scored two runs, while Lilly Hamilton added three hits and an RBI.

Brewer 10, East Limestone 8
Brewer held off a late East Limestone rally to win 10-8 over the Lady Indians. Walls led the Lady Patriots with a home run, a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Lott added two hits and three RBIs, while Stapler had three hits and an RBI. Hamilton added two hits. Lawrence earned the win with five innings of relief after allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five.
