Hartselle junior Blayne Godfrey commits to Auburn softball

Hartselle junior pitcher Blayne Godfrey committed to the Auburn Lady Tigers softball program. She announced this on her Twitter account this past Friday.

“Proud to announce I have committed to Auburn University,” she said. “ Thanks to my family, friends and coaches I have had along the way. Super incredibly thankful, War Eagle!!!”

She posted a 30-7 record in her first season for the Tigers. She struck out a school-record 347 in 195 innings with a 0.77 ERA. She was a first-team 6A All-State selection.

She was named to the 3A All-State 1st team as a freshman and 2nd team as a 7th grader. Unfortunately, her 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic.

She has compiled a 61-21 record in three seasons. She has 820 strikeouts in 484 career innings.

She transferred to Hartselle after playing for three years at Danville.

The Auburn Lady Tigers are coached by Mickey Dean. He led the Lady Tigers to a 40-17 record last season with a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
