HHS track places third at Big Cat

Hartselle returned to the action this past Saturday at Milton Frank stadium and came back with 12 new personal records for members of the team.The boys and girls team both finished 3rd overall in the track meet.

Reagan Bowling ran a time of 2:47.81 in the 800m dash, giving her 5th place and 4 points.

Billie Shelton ran a new personal record in the 200m dash with a time of 29.86. She also ran in the 100m hurdles and scored 4th place and 5 points with her time of 18.66. Billie would return in the 300m hurdles with a new personal record of 52.72, giving her 3rd place and 6 points.

Ivy Buchanan ran a new personal record in the 800m dash with a time of 3:03.53.

Sarah Butler ran a new personal record in the 800m dash with a time of 3:04.66.

The girls 4x400m relay team consisted of Haley Baker, Alex Harris, Jessica Hickerson, and Billie Shelton. They ran a time of 4:54.23, giving them 6th place and 3 points.

The girls 4x800m relay team consisted of Haley Baker, Jessica Hickerson, Reagan Bowling, and Mallory Faulkner. They ran a time of 11:18.53, giving them 3rd place and 6 points.

Shelby Kaup got 7th place and 1 point for the girls in the high jump wi a height of 4-06.00

Kelsey Rae Walling attained a new personal record in the pole vault with a height of 7-06.00, giving her 4th place and 5 points.

Elizabeth Russell came in 8th place in the pole vault, giving her 1 point.

Alley Orr threw a distance of 24-07.00 in the shot put, giving her 8th place and 1 point. She would throw a new record in the javelin throw with a distance of 90-03, giving her 6th place.

Kaeli Gerstman threw a new personal record in the discus with a distance of 79-04, giving her 7th place and 2 points.

Ashton Pennington threw a distance of 116-03 in the javelin giving her 2nd place and 8 points.

Jessica Matthews threw a distance of 106-01 in the javelin giving her 4th place and 5 points.

Savannah Holmes threw a new personal record in the javelin with a distance of 103-04, giving her 4 points and 5th place

Hunter Grantland ran a time of 12.03 in the 100m dash and finished 5th with 4 points. He would run the 200m dash as well and finish 6th with a time of 24.38, giving him 3 points.

Mason McGee ran a new personal record in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.05. He ran in the 110m hurdles, gaining 6th place with a time of 18.58 and 3 points.

Jonathan Duncan finished 6th in the 1600m run with a time of 5:10.86, giving him 3 points. He would run in the 3200m run as well and finish 3rd with a time of 10:33.46, giving him 6 points.

Jordan Frazier ran in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. He finished 2nd in both races, gaining 8 points each with a time of 15.37 in the 110m hurdles and 41.30 in the 300m hurdles. He would go into the high jump with a height of 5-04.00 giving him 6th place and 2 points.

The boys 4x100m relay finished 4th with time of 45.14 and a total of 5 points. The team consisted of Hunter Grantland, Jaylan Jackson, Ja’mal Jackson, and D’Andre Mack.

James Glenn ran in the 100m dash and got a new personal record with the time of 12.52. He threw the shot put a distance of 35-02.00, giving him 7th place. He threw the discus a new personal distance of 122-04, giving him 2nd place and 8 points. He threw the javelin 111-09, giving him 3rd place and 6 points.

The boys 4x400m relay team consisted of Hunter Grantland, Steven Cleek, Jonathan Duncan, and Jordan Frazier. They ran the race with a time of 3:49.73, gaining 5th place and 4 points.

The boys 4x800m relay consisted of Steven Cleek, Jonathan Duncan, Chase Barrett, and John Paulsen. They ran the race with a time of 9:24.04, gaining 2nd place with 8 points.

Jaylan Jackson jumped in the high jump with a height of 5-04.00, giving him 6th place and 2 points.

Ja’mal Jackson jumped a new personal record in the long jump with a distance of 17-09.00. He also gained a new personal record in the triple jump with a distance of 37-06.00, giving him 7th place and 3 points

D’Andre Mack jumped a new personal record in the triple jump with a distance of 38-06.25, giving him 6th place and 4 points.

Theron Locke threw a new personal record in the shot put with a distance of 31-01.50.

James Barnett gained 6th place and 4 points in the discus with a distance of 105-01.

Bradley Lovill threw a distance of 104-03 in the discus, giving him 7th place and 3 points. He threw the javelin 111-04, giving him 4th place and 5 points.

Lyn Mullins threw a distance of 130-04 in the javelin, giving him 1st place and 10 points.

Landon Tall threw a new personal record in the javelin with a distance of 87-02.

Hartselle will travel to Bob Jones this weekend to compete in the last track meet before sectionals.
