Carl Edward Speake

Funeral for Carl Edward Speake, 70, of Danville will be today, April 4, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Sparks officiating.

Burial will be in Speake Family Cemetery.

Mr. Speake died Sat., March 31, 2012, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Lawrence County to Ulric Crisp Speake and Bessie Lee Clark Speake. He was a graduate of Speake High School and a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was a retired chemical operator after 40 years with 3M Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Annie Jane Fincher Speake.

He is survived by a daughter, Onna Lee Speake Eady and husband Hayden Matthew of Danville; a brother, Hoyt Speake of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Mary England of Tuscumbia and Dorothy Hargrove of Toney; and three surviving grandchildren, Jackson Cole Sparks, Hayden Matthew Eady II and Brianna Leigh Cartee.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Cole Sparks, Larry Speake, Roger Speake, John Sanders, Joseph Speake, J. R. Speake, Darwin Speake and Nelson Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Matthew Eady II and Keith Speake.
