FHS thanks legislator for support
Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank State Representative Ronald Grantland for his generous donation to the Falkville High School junior varsity boys basketball team. On a recent visit to a local eating establishment, I was discussing the price of biscuits with the manager.
Funds at a small school are very tight and I was looking for the best price available. Mr. Grantland overheard the conversation and generously donated the majority of the price needed to cover the cost.
He did not do this in front of everyone at the counter, but waited until I had gone outside.
After much discussion and at his insistance, I finally took the money. Mr. Grantland did not have to do this and my team and I very much appreciate his generous offer.
I have never been a very political person but when it comes time to vote in the next election, you can bet I will vote for Mr. Grantland. Not because of the money, but because we need people of his character helping to run this great state of ours.
