Mix spices together in shaker to save cooking time

Party mix

1 cup coconut

1 cup chopped pecans/nuts of your choice

1 cup raisins

Combine all ingredients and mix well.

Pimento dip

1 small jar of pimentos

1 cup sour cream

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and serve with crackers.

Pimento cheese

1 large jar pimentos

1 pkg. softened cream cheese

Stir pimento and cream cheese together until smooth. Spread on cracker.

Food hint: before going food shopping, check the recipes that you plan to use and see if you have all of the ingredients for the recipe.

Spice hint: Mix cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg together and put into a salt shaker and whenever you want to use these spices, you will have them all together, this saves time.

Cinnamon sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup sugar

Mix cinnamon and sugar together. Can be used on fruit, oatmeal or toast.

Thought for the week: Whenever you are afraid, do the thing that you are afraid and soon, you will lose your fear of it.

Cooking tip: Save tart pans and use them to bake muffins and cupcakes. Grease these so the muffins and cupcakes don’t stick.

Company black eyed peas

1 can black eyed peas

1 can Italian tomatoes w/ liquid

3 tablespoons margarine

Combine all ingredients and cook over low heat until thoroughly heated and stir often.

Cooking tip: use the paper from boxes of crackers and other items to grease cooking pans, muffin tins and cup liners.
