Svetz, Shannon to wed
James and Patricia Svetz of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Regine Svetz, to Kevin Michael Shannon, son of Terry and Sandy Shannon of Decatur.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Irwin and Phyllis Lester and Ethel Svetz and the late Steven Svetz of Steator, Ill. She is a 1998 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2003 graduate of Auburn University. She is community service coordinator for Morgan County System of Services.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late William and Alive Nerl and the late Clinton and Harriett Shannon of Cincinnati, Ohio.
A 1998 graduate of Austin High School and a 2003 graduate of Jacksonville State University, he is a history teacher and coach for Austin High School.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 16, 2006 at 5 p.m. at Hartselle First United Methodist Church.
Williams, Roose to wed
Glenn and Teena Williams of Somerville announce the engagement of their daughter, Gina Ann Williams of Birmingham, to Theodore “Tad” Reed Roose of Birmingham, the son of Ted and Donna Roose of Hoover.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Faye Williams and the late Harold Williams of Somerville and Elizabeth Kelly and the late Jasper Kelly of Decatur.
She is a graduate of A.P. Brewer High School and Auburn University with a degree in mass communications and is employed as a producer at CBS 42 in Birmingham.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Manley and Vivian Roose of Hoover and the late Charles and Vivian Reed of Birmingham.
A graduate of Macon East-Montgomery Academy and Troy University with a degree in journalism and public relations, he is employed in Human Resources at American Red Cross Blood Services-Birmingham.
He is a member of Farm House Fraternity.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 29, 2006 at Southside Baptist Church in Decatur.
