Sadie Couch St. John

Funeral for Sadie Couch St. John, 87, of Somerville will be Thur., Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Katherine Perkins officiating.

Visitation will be Thur., Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. St. John died Mon., Feb. 13, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 9, 1924, in Marshall County and was the second youngest of 11 siblings born to Earnest Preston Couch and Adabelle Terry Couch. She attended Athens State College and graduated with a B.S. degree in education. She loved teaching and always reflected fondly on those years., White teaching she met and married Carl St. John and they settled in the Union community. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl St. John, and her parents, four sisters, five brothers and a nephew.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon D. St. John of Birmingham; and a brother, David Couch and wife Mary Fann of Union Grove.

Pallbearers will be Roderick Jenkins, Gary Morris, Terry Morris, Bill Gilchrist, Michael Jenkins and Doug Couch.
