Woman reports attack in Main Street residence

Hartselle police are investigating an incident involving a forced entry and attack of a woman at her home on East Main Street early Tuesday morning.
The woman reported to police that her home was forced open and she was physically attacked and a sexual attack was attempted at about 5 a.m. Money was also reported taken, according to investigator Lt. Justin Barley.
The attacker was identified as a white male.
The victim reported receiving medical treatment at Decatur General Hospital, Barley said.
