Funeral for Georgia Gandy Barber, 72, will be Mon., Jan. 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joel Logan and Bro. Ray Pettit officiating.

Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sun., Jan. 1, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barber died on Thur., Dec. 29, 2011, at her residence. She was born Feb. 4, 1939, in Morgan County to James Spurgeon Wilhite and Rosa Belle (Higdon) Wilhite. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Cletus Gandy and Wayne Barber; and her parents.

She is survived by four sons, Tony Gandy, Steven Gandy, Allen Gandy and Mahlon Gandy, all of Athens; two daughters, Sheila Langley of Elkmont and Deborah Haney of Athens; a stepson, Rusty Barber of Decatur; a stepdaughter, Michelle Wilmon of Grant; three brothers, Gary Wilhite of Crane Hill and James Wilhite and Eugene Wilhite, both of Falkville; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
