HMC adopts foster care angels

Hartselle Medical Center adopted five foster care angels and several senior citizens in need of Christmas cheer for the holiday season.

Departments participating in the foster care angel project included radiology, lab, dietary, environmental services and maintenance, purchasing, administration, marketing, business office, education, medical records, quality, case management, nursing and surgery.

Each team of departments purchased, wrapped and delivered its gifts to Standard Furniture by Dec. 15.

The New Day staff participated in the senior citizens project. They provided boxes of Christmas gifts and goodies to those seniors.

The hospital staff hang a wreath containing ornaments that had gift suggestions for each senior. The employees selected an ornament, purchased the gift and turned them into the New Day staff.

“Our goal is to reach out and offer a little cheer to citizens in need,” said Kathy Goodwin, Director of Marketing and Community Events for Hartselle Medical Center.
