Tigers' year comes to an end at Athens

Jackson Holmes had 15 points for Hartselle but it wasn't enough as the Tigers' season came to an end Friday night at Athens.
The Golden Eagles' Larquis Crutcher led all scorers in the game with 20 points. Athens advanced to the championship against Muscle Shoals, while Hartselle's season ended at 2-25.

A year after traveling to Huntsville and winning the Area 14 tournament, the Patriots' trip across the river was a short one as they fell to Arab in a first-round heartbreaker.
Matt Nielsen scored 19 points to lead Brewer, and Brandon Frank added 11 for the Patriots.

Arab shot 41 free throws while Brewer only attempted 19 and four Lady Patriots fouled out as Brewer fell in the semifinals of the Area 14 tournament in Scottsboro Feb. 9.
Nichole Hayes led Brewer with 16 points, including five three-pointers. Courtney Scott added 14 points and Meagan Hormel had 12.
Alli Smalley had 28 points to lead the Lady Knights.
