Swimmers take 2nd at Bob Jones

The Hartselle High Swim Team finished second overall Monday night at the Bob Jones Invitational.

Tiffany Pittman gets into position on the starting blocks preparing to race at Bob Jones Monday. Pittman has already qualified to compete in state.

The following swimmers had the best times: Lauren McCoy (50 freestyle), Jordan Bruner (50 freestyle), Michael Powell (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle), Alec Holloway (50 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Jess Horton (100 freestyle), Lynn Mullins (100 freestyle), Trey Fanning (100 freestyle), Brantley Keliinoi (50 freestyle, 100 backstroke), and Tiffany Pittman (200 individual medley, 100 backstroke).

Today, Hartselle will compete in the North Alabama High School Championships at the Natatorium in Huntsville.

Two swimmers have already qualified individually for the AHSAA State Championships at the Auburn University Aquatics Center Dec. 1-3.

Horton has qualified in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Pittman has qualified in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 breast stroke and 200 individual medley.
