Thanks to Depot Days workers

We had an awesome festival with an estimated crowd of 18, 000-20,000 to enjoy the 106 vendors, 15 artists, 12 food booths, over 20 children's rides and activities, 32 entertainers and the fantastic Paul Bunyan lumberjack Show. We would like to thank all the special people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the 2005 Depot Days Festival successful.
Thanks to the city of Hartselle – Street Department employees who, despite their heavy workload following hurricane Katrina, managed to pick up, trim, cut and clean all around Hartselle in preparation for this year's festival.
Our festival signage is prepared and made possible by the sign department and we are forever grateful for their hard work. We appreciate the many hours of hard work and overtime you have and continue to invest in our city as the cleanup continues.
With the assistance and efforts of our volunteers, sponsors, Department of Development, vendors, participants, merchants, Hartselle Utility workers and festival attendees, this annual event in Hartselle is special for all of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
To all the members of the 2005 Depot Days Festival Committee who dedicated eight months of volunteer time to this festival, your efforts are priceless.
On another note, many of us had damage during the recent storms, and although it has not been easy to see piles of brush and debris from the storm on our streets and curbs, we should all be proud of the job that our street department has been doing to clean up Hartselle. Hartselle consists of 15-square-miles and hundreds of streets. Please be patient and thankful as the city workers continue to dedicate their time to the cleanup of our city's streets. If you catch them working in your area, be sure to tell them how much you appreciate the extra hours and personal time they are giving up. We are so blessed to have this dedicated and caring crew of individuals in Hartselle.
I've just come back from the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association annual meeting and can't wait to tell you what all is going on.
For now though, mark your calendars for this year's annual Christmas Open House and Taste of Hartselle on Nov. 6.
