Brackin, Knowlton exchange vows
Jennifer Ann Brackin of Hatton and Charles Robert Knowlton II of Hartselle were wed July 30, 2005, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle with Dr. Ron Wilson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Roger and Wanda Brackin of Hatton. The groom is the son of Bobby and Anne Knowlton of Hartselle.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of diamond white duchess satin. The two-piece gown was fashioned with a laced corset bodice, richly embellished with broken bugle beads.
The soft skirt of satin was bordered with a contrasting band and swept to a royal cathedral train.
Her cathedral-length veil of imported French tulle was held by a bandeau of clustered pearls embedded with diamond crystals. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses accented with stephanotis.
Christy Brackin of Hatton was maid of honor.
Bridal attendants were Kelley Hopkins of Decatur, Paige Elkins of Mt. Hope, Tara Smith of Hatton, Meghan Pace of Mt. Hope, Sarah Campbell of Hatton, Diana Garrett of Trinity, Meeda Stephenson of Hartselle, Holly Knowlton of Jacksonville, and Stephanie Walker of Hatton.
Bible bearers were Collin Elkins of Mt. Hope and Elijah Hopkins of Decatur.
Savanna Hughes of Madison and Ella and Emma Knowlton of Jacksonville were flower girls. Will Stephenson of Hartselle was ring bearer.
The groom's father was best man.
Groomsmen were Kevin Brackin of Hatton, Shane Hopkins of Decatur, Matthew Wilson of Birmingham, Justin Drummons of Auburn, John Phillips of Decatur, Matt Golden of Decatur, Trent Preuitt of Hartselle, Hugh Bailey of Enterprise, and Jay Knowlton of Jacksonville.
Music was provided by pianist Martha Bowling and keyboardist Allison Keenum.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
Linda Pace was wedding director.
Mackenzie Smith and Andrea Hancock, both of Hatton, attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Jamaica. They will reside in Madison.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents was held July 29 in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church in Hartselle.

Amy Marlene Crouse and Russell Lamar Barbee, both of Advance, N.C., were wed July 9, 2005, at 5 p.m. at Old Fulton United Methodist Church in Advance with Hopewell Baptist Church Pastor Greg Barbee, brother of the groom, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Danny and Lee Ann Crouse of Kernersville, N.C. The groom, formerly of Hartselle, is the son of Joyce Chandler Barbee of Hartselle and the late Allen Barbee.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Bridal attendants were Jodi Brown and Michelle Totel, both of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Tracy Doub of Pfafftown, N.C.
Natalie Gray was flower girl and Logan Gray was ring bearer, both of Walkertown, N.C., and cousins of the bride.
Doug McCraw of East Bend, N.C., was best man.
Groomsmen were Tim Taylor and Fred Jones, both of Clemmons, N.C.
The Winston-Salem Police Department Honor Guard served as ushers.
Music was provided by pianist Terry Hicks, violinist Lauren Kossler, and violist Cathy Dudley, all of Winston-Salem.
Following the ceremony, a reception with dinner and dancing was held at Bermuda Rio Country Club.

Melody Widener of Clemons, Molly Richardson of Winston-Salem, and Chandler Barbee of Hartselle attended the guest registry and distributed programs.
A bridal shower hosted by the bride's aunts was held in Kernersville.
McCullar, Prater to wed Sept. 10
Gary McCullar of Priceville and William and Joy Sturtevant of Columbus, Ind. announce the engagement of their daughter, Candice Brooke McCullar of Hartselle, to Mitchell Dewayne Prater, son of Dewayne and Jayne Prater of Danville.
The bride-elect attended Hartselle High School and is employed with Stone River, Inc. of Decatur. She is the granddaughter of Betty Clayton of Bessemer, Earl Clayton and Virginia McCullar, both of Decatur, and the late Buddy McCullar.
The groom-elect attended Danville High School and is employed with Vulcan Materials of Lacon. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Prater of Danville and Mr. and Mrs. John N. Anders of Hartselle.
The wedding will be held Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Covenant Cove on Guntersville Lake.
Preuitt, Nix to wed Aug. 27
Alton and Dee-Retha Preuitt of Addison announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie DeAnn Preuitt, to Joshua Mark Nix, son of Mark and Bobbie Nix of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Addison High School and is employed with Eddie Preuitt Ford of Hartselle.
She is the granddaughter of Earl and Mildred Wilson of Houston and the late H.B. and Marcia Preuitt.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Brewer High School and is employed with Eddie Preuitt Ford of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Peggy Hegamaker of Decatur, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Calahan of Hartselle, the late Haywood and Hester Nix, and the late Maxie Calahan. The wedding will be held Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents.
