A graveside service for Helen Jackson Howell, 95, of Hartselle was Tuesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Howell died Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the residence of her daughter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle and a retired school teacher. She taught first and second grades at F.E. Burleson Elementary School for over 25 years. Her husband, Elliotte Howell, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. Howell Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Helen H. Sterbutzel of Hartselle; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Sterbutzel, H. Pete Simpson, Steven E. Parker, Joseph D. Thornton, Allen Estes and Charles Howell III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hartselle, Hartselle Public Library or Hospice of the Valley.
