Justin Schuver named Enquirer sports editor

By Staff
Justin Schuver has been named sports editor at the Hartselle Enquirer.
Schuver graduated from the University of Notre Dame, Ind. in May, but has already had a varied journalism career. He has written for the Gadsden Times, the Sand Mountain Reporter in Albertville and the Appalachian News Express in Pikeville, Ky.
While at the News Express, he received a second place award for sports feature writing from the Kentucky Press Association.
Schuver was associate sports editor for The Observer, the Notre Dame student newspaper, covering Irish sports ranging from Notre Dame's football team to softball.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to work in Hartselle," Schuver said. "I grew up in Alabama, so I know how seriously people take their sports. I look forward to immersing myself in the local sports culture here."
Publisher Leada Gore said she is excited to have someone with Schuver's experience at the Enquirer.
Schuver is originally from Gadsden and attended high school at Westbrook Christian School in Rainbow City. He will also serve as sports editor at the Madison County Record.
