Funeral for William Carson Cantrell, 78, of Union Grove was Saturday, Dec. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at High Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Pearson and Newton Gribble officiating.
Burial was in Gath Cemetery.
Mr. Cantrell died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at South Hampton Nursing Home in Owens Crossroads. He was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Warren Co., Tenn. to Denton H. Cantrell and Josie Glenn Cantrell. He was owner of a dry cleaning business in Hartselle where he was retired. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Arlington Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lennice Cantrell; two brothers, Glenn Cantrell and Everette Cantrell; and two sisters, Ollie Stiles and Wretha Locke.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Hale Cantrell of Union Grove; two sons, Gene Cantrell of McMinnville, Tenn. and Gearld Cantrell of Union Grove; a brother, Clifford Cantrell of McMinnville, Tenn.; two sisters, Tula Bell Dial and Marie Jones, both of Alabama; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
