Funeral for Frank D. "Papaw" Mullins Sr., 71, of Hartselle was Friday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Ammons officiating.
Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mr. Mullins died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at his residence. He was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church. A 1953 graduate of Decatur High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a Lieutenant in 1989 having served 25 years with the Hartselle Police Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Franklin (Frankie) D. Mullins Jr.; two brothers, J.B. Mullins and James Mullins; two sisters, Ruby Almon and Pauline Turner; and a grandson, Jacob Alexander Metcalf Mullins.
He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Lynn Mullins of Hartselle; one daughter, Kaila Mullins of Hartselle; one sister, Earline Peek Morton of Tuscumbia; five grandchildren, Morgan Whitney Mullins, Cheyenne Jessie Lynn Mullins, Jeffrey Lynn Mullins II, Jackson Blake Nichols and Spencer Riley Mullins.
Pallbearers were Hon. Judge Glenn Thompson, Mark Brown, Terry Miller, Mike Turner, Faron Keith Weeks and Ben Peek.
Honorary pallbearers were Albrie Anderson, Jay Anderson, Tony Heaps, Willard Heaps, Terry Miller, John Pat Orr, Eddie Preuitt, Jackie Coulter and nephews.
