Funeral for the Rev. William Hugh Compton Sr., 66, of Decatur was Monday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at Falkville First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Doug Wells Jr. and Coy Hallmark officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the Falkville City Cemetery.
Rev. Compton died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 15, 1937, in Morgan County to John Olen Compton and Ruth Lou Ella Evans Compton. He was a Methodist minister.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Compton of Huntsville and Greg Compton of Decatur; two daughters, Joanna Tucker of Decatur and Dianna Parker of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Tommy Compton of Cullman; three sisters, Kaye Bates of Falkville, Jackie Phillips of Athens and Anna Davidson of Birmingham; and 11 grandchildren.
