Funeral for Silas Andrew Jones, 82, of Falkville was Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Mount View Baptist Church with the Revs. Jesse Estes and Harvie Reynolds officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, in Decatur. He was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Morgan County to John Henry Jones and Mary Audrey McDonald Jones. He was a Baptist and a Disabled American Veteran, where he served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Estelle Stinson Jones of Falkville; two sons, Don Rabe Jones and wife Donna and Charles A. Jones, all of Falkville; one daughter, Linda Gail Holmes and husband O.D. of Decatur; one brother, Dover Jones of Foley; one sister, Sally Puckett of Eva; six grandchildren, Jessica Williams and husband Chip, Danielle Hayes and husband Josh, Jada Jones; Kyle Jones, Brittney Jones, Bryan Holmes; and one great grandchild, Jayla Marian Hayes.
Pallbearers were Troy Puckett, Jr., Donald Gene Jones, Milton Jones, Bryan Holmes, Jerry Mason and Timmy Helms.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Turney, Ronald Childers and Bobby Ray Childers.
