Priceville beats Speake in jamboree

TRINITY – What a difference a year makes.
Priceville beat Speake 7-6 last Friday night, avenging a 39-0 loss last year to the same team in the same exhibition.
The improvement was obvious.
"We have definitely improved since this time last year," head coach Marty Chambers said. "We still have some growing up to do, but we grew up some here tonight."
The hero of the night might be Ryan Mouser.
The defensive back deflected a would-be touchdown pass in the first quarter, and later intercepted a two-point conversion attempt to seal the game.
Chambers was impressed.
"He came to play tonight," Chambers said. "He did a fantastic job."
Priceville scored in the first quarter, as quarterback Zac Fairbanks hit Dale Taylor for a 14-yard touchdown.
Late in the second quarter, Speake's Deon Brown went 36 yards around left end for Speake's only score.
