“A Man Called Ove”
By Fredrik Backman

Ove is what his neighbors call a “curmudgeon.” He is a stickler for the rules, especially when he is on his daily neighborhood inspection. If anyone breaks any of the sacred rules, they will be sure to hear about it from Ove. One day, new neighbors arrive and make a bad first impression by smashing Ove’s mailbox. The man obviously couldn’t drive, and the pregnant woman was herding their two daughters away from the cranky older neighbor who was yelling. Ove didn’t think he was cranky. He just wanted to be left alone. What his new neighbors didn’t know was that Ove was suffering from a terrible loss and had a plan to end it all. What Ove didn’t realize was how distracting the new neighbors would be to his plans.

This title is available on Libby as an E-book and Audiobook. The movie “A Man Called Otto” is available to check out on DVD.

“Meet Me on St. Patrick’s Day”
By Bryony Rosehurst

Brennan O’Keeffe and Quinn Hayes always cross paths on St. Patrick’s Day. However, they are perfect strangers. On one St. Patrick’s Day, they finally decide to stop being strangers. This leads them to falling in love and falling apart very quickly due to their secrets. Now, years later, Quinn finds Brennan at his bar on St. Patrick’s Day. She decides that maybe she can change their fate with a little luck and determination. Maybe their fate isn’t set in stone just yet.

Both Brennan and Quinn are at a loss and just trying to find direction in their lives. Every year fate pushes them together. They each have some maturing to do and it starts out slow, but eventually picks up the pace. It’s a fun read for anyone that likes a good holiday themed rom-com.
