Priceville picks up three wins

The Priceville Bulldogs (8-2) picked up three victories this past week, including an 11-6 win over 3A No. 4 Decatur Heritage. The Bulldogs’ only blemish was a loss to 7A No. 2 Bob Jones.

Priceville 8, Ardmore 3
Wes Walker homered and drove in three runs to lead Priceville to an 8-3 win over Ardmore. JoJo Garrison had a double and three RBI, while Jaidan Gordon added two hits and an RBI. Jackson Prickett picked up the win after 2 1/3 innings of relief, allowing no runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

Priceville 11, Decatur Heritage 6
Xander Gaines and Brayden Burney had four hits and two RBIs each in Priceville’s 11-6 win over 3A No. 4 Decatur Heritage.

Walker hit his second home run of the day and had two RBI, while Prickett, Garrison and Ty Parker each had a hit and an RBI. Colman Gann picked up the victory, allowing two runs on two hits with five strikeouts.

Bob Jones 10, Priceville 0
7A No. 2 Bob Jones raced past the Bulldogs 10-0 in a last-minute game this past Friday. Brayden Burney has a single for Priceville’s only hit. Garrison took the loss after allowing two unearned runs in two innings. He struck out four.

Priceville 14, Fairview 4
Thomas Kerby hit two homers and had five RBI to lead Priceville to a 14-4 win over Fairview.

Zack Chaney added two hits, including a homer, and three RBI, while Garrison and Parker each had two hits and two RBI.

Jackson Prickett pitched 4 2/3 innings to get the win, allowing one earned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts.

Elkmont 4-6, Brewer 3-1
The Brewer Patriots (6-6) were swept by Elkmont in a doubleheader this past Saturday. The Red Devils won 4-3 and 6-1.

In game one, the Patriots scored runs in the final three innings but came up short in the 4-3 loss. Hunter Knighten had a hit, a run scored and an RBI to lead Brewer. Brayden Murphy had a hit and an RBI, while Justin Brooks had a hit and a run scored.

The Patriots fell 6-1 to the Red Devils in game two. Brooks scored Brewer’s only run, while Kade George had a double.

Brewer 8, Whitesburg Christian 1
Cole Drinkard had two hits and an RBI to lead Brewer to an 8-1 win over Whitesburg Christian. Brooks and Murphy each had one hit and an RBI. Lane Owen picked up the win after pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits.

Brewer 4, Vinemont 1
Lane Owen struck out 11 to lead Brewer to a 4-1 win over Vinemont. Knighten had a hit, scored two runs and had two stolen bases to lead the offense. Dylan Thomas added two hits and an RBI.

Danville 1, Good Hope 0
Reece Cowart pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout, leading Danville to a 1-0 win over Good Hope. He struck out five. Gage Taylor had a hit and an RBI, while Jackson Randolph added a two hits. AJ Holladay scored the Hawk’s run.

West Morgan 5, Danville 4
Danville fell 5-4 to West Morgan when the Rebels scored the game-winning run on Harrison Johnson’s double that scored Levi Borden. Johnson had three hits with three RBI. Connor Dillard pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs with three strikeouts.

Kade Taylor had two doubles and a run scored to lead the Hawks. Holladay added a double, while Randolph had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.

Clements 9, Danville 8
Kade Taylor had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI in Danville’s 9-8 loss to Clements. Sawyer Tapscott added three hits and an RBI, while Avery Brewer had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Sumiton Christian 13, Falkville 3
Owen Teague had three hits and one RBI in Falkville’s 13-3 loss to Sumiton Christian. Kole Fitzgerald had a hit and an RBI, while Dawson Fowler, Logan Fowler and Sawyer Reynolds each added two hits.

Falkville 8, Addison 7
Reynolds doubled and had three RBI in the Blue Devils’ 8-7 win over Addison. Dawson Fowler added three hits, while Peyton Davis had a double and two RBI.
