Girls basketball: Danville improves to 3-0 in area play

DANVILLE – The Danville Lady Hawks improved to 3-0 in area play with a 60-30 win over Colbert Heights.

Reagan Prater scored 11 points and had five steals to lead Danville in the win. Elisabeth Hand had nine points and seven steals, while Alyssa Brooks and Olivia Vest added eight points each.

Danville 48, Colbert County 27

The Lady Hawks moved to 2-0 in area play with a 48-27 win over Colbert County. Danville led 30-6 at halftime.

Maddie Sherrill scored a game-high 15 points to lead Danville. Ella Kate Tidwell had 13 points, while Olivia Vest scored seven.

Karion Cooper scored eight points to lead Colbert County.

Priceville 65, Brewer 17

The Lady Bulldogs raced past their county rival Brewer in a 65-17 win. Priceville took a 43-8 lead at halftime after outscoring the Lady Patriots 26-0 in the second quarter.

Leslie Hames finished with 13 points, five assists and five steals, while Abby Langlois had 12 points and seven rebounds. Ashlyn Johnson and Lauren Hames added nine points each for Priceville, while Zoey Benson had eight points and five steals.

Lilly Yancey finished with six points and five rebounds to lead Brewer, while Bailey Hale added four points and five rebounds.

Good Hope 79, Priceville 62

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-1 in area play with a 79-62 loss to Good Hope. Priceville trailed 31-28 at halftime. However, the Lady Raiders outscored the Lady Bulldogs 24-13 in the third quarter to take command of the game.

Leslie Hames finished with a game-high 26 points to lead Priceville. Lauren Hames added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Zoey Benson had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Ivey Maddox finished with 23 points to lead four Good Hope players in double digits. Heather Tetro had 19, Rudi Derrick had 13 and Bailey Tetro added 12.

Arab 62, Priceville 57

The Lady Bulldogs fell 62-57 on the road at Arab. Priceville led 37-28 at the half before being outscored 34-20 in the second half.

Zoey Benson finished with a double-double, 16 points and 12 rebounds, to lead Priceville. Leslie Hames added 16 points, while Gracin Prater had 13 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Bryleigh Bodine led four Arab scorers in double figures with 13 points. Bennett Elrod had 12, Lexi Mann had 11 and Sydney Ferguson added 10.

Holly Pond 64, Falkville 50

The Blue Devils dropped to 1-1 in area play with a 64-50 loss to Holly Pond. Falkville trailed 32-25 at halftime.

Ellie Cate Hill scored 18 points to lead Falkville, while Abbey Grace Tomlin added nine points and eight rebounds.

Madison Butts finished with a game-high 23 points to lead Holly Pond.
