Hartselle softball places five on 6A all-state teams

The Hartselle Lady Tigers placed five players on the Alabama Sports Writers Association 6A all-state teams. Hartselle finished 51-9-1 this past season. 

 Karsi Lentz, Senior 1B, was named the 6A Hitter of the Year after hitting .478 with 75 hits, 25 home runs, 91 RBIs and 19 steals. 

 Joining Lentz on the 6A first team are Larissa Preuitt, Sr OF and Blayne Godfrey, So P. Pruitt hit .552 with 100 hits, 103 runs, 87 steals, 60 RBIs, 15 doubles and 13 triples, while Godfrey was 30-7 with two saves. She had 347 strikeouts, a Hartselle record, with a 1.08 ERA in 195 innings pitched. She finished with 20 shutouts, five no-hitters and two perfect games. 

 Kaelyn Jones, So SS, and Brityan Godfrey, Fr C, were named 6A second team. Jones hit .491 with 85 hits, 79 runs, 61 RBIs and 51 steals, while Godfrey hit .345 with 50 hits, 53 RBIs and nine home runs. 

 Preuitt will continue her career at the University of Alabama, while Lentz will play at Auburn University – Montgomery.
