State Rep. Scott Stadthagen hosted a campaign kick-off dinner in Hartselle this past week. The event welcomed nearly 500 of Stadthagen’s constituents to The Tabernacle Farm, owned by Grant and Maggie McKelvey.

Brad Sheats of Life Church led the crowd in prayer to begin the event, and Ferrell Vest served as emcee.

Sen. Garlan Gudger presented a video of Stadthagen’s colleagues who could not attend in person.

In the video, Rep. Wes Allen called Stadthagen a “conservative warrior.”

“You’re very fortunate to have Scott represent you in Montgomery,” Allen said. “He fights for your values and your principles.”

Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth also endorsed Stadthagen in the video, calling him a true conservative.

“He’s a done a great job in Montgomery,” Ainsworth said. “He’s going to fight for smaller government and lower taxes, and he’s going to make sure he represents the business community and helps the everyday Alabamian. When you look at conservatives and what we need to move this state forward, Scott is one of those guys.”

Rep. Nathanial Ledbetter, Secretary of State John Merrill and Speaker Mac McCutcheon were all in attendance.

“We had an unbelievable kick-off event,” Stadthagen said. “I want to thank the McKelvey family for allowing us to have our event at their beautiful farm. The sacrifices they have made for us is something I will always cherish.”
