Galya Alekseeva & Adam Ferguson – September 26, 2020

Photos by Meagan Marie Mayfield

How we met: Our story began May 4, 2019. We met through a mutual friend at a local restaurant in downtown Decatur. We quickly bonded over our engineering careers, passion for travel and love of Harry Potter. After a few dates, we were nearly inseparable. Over the next few months, we fell in love and realized we could not live without one another. The week after celebrating one year together, we got engaged. We look forward to growing our marriage with God and family as the focal point.

The Wedding Dress: I found my wedding dress at David’s Bridal. It was a weird experience. We had to wear masks, and only two guests were allowed to be in my party. My American grandmother and mother came with me, and we were able to FaceTime my mother in Russia, which was very special.

Favorite Moment from the Big Day: We chose not to see each other the week before the wedding. I guess for both of us, our favorite moment was when we finally saw each other when I was walking down the aisle.
