Hartselle, Priceville players ink scholarships

Cousins Drew and Lillyanna Cartee have been a driving force in Hartselle athletics for the past couple of years – and now they will continue their athletic prowess for college programs.

Drew has signed to continue his baseball career at Samford University after he graduates this spring. He has been a multi-sport star for the Tigers, playing football and baseball.

He will play a key role for Coach William Booth and the Hartselle baseball program this spring as the Tigers look to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Lillyanna signed with the Wallace StateHanceville softball program. She is a three-sport standout for Hartselle, playing volleyball, basketball and softball.

She is a three-year starter for Coach Christy Ferguson on the diamond. She got her first start as a sophomore during the Tigers state championship run in 2018.

Additionally, three Priceville softball players have put pen to paper, with Abigail Garrison signing with Calhoun, Hannah Smyth signing with Snead State and Reagan Walters signing with Wallace State.
