Volleyball Notebook: Danville and Priceville pick up area wins

The Danville Hawks picked up an area win over Vinemont 25-11, 25-13, 25-8 on Tuesday night.

The Hawks were lead by Llayne Skinner who had 12 kills and three aces. Savannah Free finished with 43 assists while Skylar South added 10 kills.

Danville sweeps ranked teams

Danville picked up wins over 4A No. 9 West Morgan (25-18, 13-25, 16-14) and 5A No. 7 West Point (23-25, 27-25, 15-13) last Thursday.

Faith Parker led the Hawks attack with 23 kills. Skinner had 20 kills while Free finished with 42 assists.

Priceville picks up two area wins

The Bulldogs picked up a four-set victory over area foe Westminster (22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23) on Monday night.

Priceville was led by Abigail Garrison, who had 24 kills and 11 digs. Katrina Rotermund finished with 45 assists while Mallie Sharp added 23 digs and Zoey Benson had seven kills.

On Tuesday evening, the Bulldogs picked up another area win over St. John Paul II three sets to one.
