A Hartselle man came under arrest last week after Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call.  

May 21, MCSO deputies responded to a check wellbeing call in the 1800 block of Vaughn Bridge Road. Morgan County 911 Dispatch had advised deputies that a woman had called 911 and was heard crying before quickly disconnecting.  

After multiple attempts, dispatchers were unable to reconnect with the caller. 

Upon arrival in the area, deputies reported observing a vehicle parked under a bridge in the area of Vaughn Bridge Road/Bud Weaver Road and began to investigate.  

According to the deputy report, a white male appeared from the wooded area and began talking with deputies. At that time, deputies heard a woman calling for help in the woods.  

Deputies entered the woods and made contact with a woman who, they reported, appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation, inside of a make-shift tent. 

During the investigation, deputies arrested Justin Lee Yates, 37, of Hartselle, for domestic violence, third degree, and interference with a domestic violence emergency call. 

Deputies said Yates had been arrested earlier this month on related domestic violence charges and was out on bond. 

Yates was booked in the Morgan County Jail on a $7,000 bond.
