What purpose does God have for me?

By Todd Barrier

During the lockdown/quarantine, there has been plenty to do. One phenomenon has been the Netflix documentary “The Tiger King. The show has been viewed more than 30 million timesthis fact is NOT an endorsement of the show.

Have you ever wondered “What purpose does God have for me?” oWhat does God want me to accomplish during this time of isolation?” I have a feeling it’s not watching shows on Netflix constantly.

What if God gave us this time to grow closer to Him? What if this is the opportunity you have been praying for to be a better Christian? Have any of us taken advantage of it – or have we squandered it away with worldly pastimes?

In Romans 12:2 the Bible tells us not to be conformed to this world. Pair that with a verse like 2 Peter 3:18, which tells us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. Additionally, Proverbs 8:17 reminds us that if we seek Him diligently, we will find Him.

Who knows if we will ever have another time in our lives when we, without a doubt, have the hustle and bustle of this world slow down to the point we have no excuses not to buckle down, study and grow closer to Him?

How have you spent this time of isolation? Have you grown closer to the true King?

We look forward to “seeing” you Sunday!
