Enquirer names All-Area Softball Team players

Although student-athletes from across Morgan County have had their year cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic, it doesn’t mean their hard work isn’t recognized. That is why the Enquirer is honoring the best from its coverage area in softball. 

FIRST TEAM 

C – Jada Henderson, Hartselle High School, junior 

Stats: .613 Avg, 19 hits, four doubles, four homers, 24 RBIs, nine runs 

Quick Hit: Henderson led the Lady Tigers in average, hits, doubles, homers and RBIs. She led the area in average. 

IF – Karsi Lentz, Hartselle High School, sophomore 

Stats: .485 Avg, 16 hits, two doubles, one triple, four homers, 17 RBIs, 13 runs 

Quick Hit: Lentz led the Lady Tigers in homers. 

IF – Abigail Garrison, Priceville High School, junior 

Stats: .500 Avg, 19 hits, four doubles, five homers, 25 RBIs, 14 runs 

Quick Hit: Garrison led the Lady Bulldogs in average, RBIs, runs scored, hits and homers. She led the area in RBIs and homers. 

IF – Madalyn Holladay, Danville High School, senior 

Stats: .591 Avg, 26 hits, eight doubles, one homer, 14 RBIs, 16 runs 

Quick Hit: Holladay led the Lady Hawks in average, hits, doubles, RBIs and runs. She led the area in hits and doubles. 

IF – Kameryn Scales, Falkville High School, junior 

Stats: .486 Avg, 17 hits, seven doubles, 12 RBIs, 21 runs 

Quick Hit: Scales led the Lady Blue Devils in doubles and runs scored. 

OF – Larissa Preuitt, Hartselle High School, sophomore 

Stats: .600 Avg, 18 hits, two doubles, three triples, one homer, seven RBIs, 25 runs 

Quick Hit: Preuitt led the Lady Tigers and the area in runs scored and triples. 

OF – Caitlin Bryson, Brewer High School, senior 

Stats: .513 Avg, 20 hits, one double, six RBIs, eight runs 

Quick Hit: Bryson led the Lady Patriots in average and hits. She signed with Calhoun Community College. 

OF – Elli Lorance, Falkville High School, sophomore 

Stats: .550 Avg, 22 hits, five doubles, 13 RBIs, 14 runs 

Quick Hit: Lorance led the Lady Blue Devils in average. 

UTIL – Emma Broadfoot, Danville High School, senior 

Stats: .542 Avg, 13 hits, five doubles, one triple, four homers, 12 RBIs, 12 runs 

Quick Hit: Broadfoot led the Lady Hawks in homers and triples, despite missing the first four games with an injury. She signed with the University of North Alabama. 

UTIL – Hannah Buchanan, Brewer High School, senior 

Stats: .435 Avg, 20 hits, two doubles, eight RBIs, 16 runs 

Quick Hits: Buchanan led the Lady Patriots in in hits, RBIs and runs scored. She has signed with Columbia State Community College in Tennessee. 

P – Jenna Smith, Hartselle High School, junior 

Stats: 1.71 ERA, 8-1 record, 60 Ks, one save 

Quick Hit: Smith led the Lady Tigers in wins, ERA and strikeouts. She led the area in strikeouts. 

P/UTIL – Sydnee Fitzgerald, Falkville High School, junior 

Stats: .488 AVG, 21 hits, six doubles, one triple, 22 RBIs, 17 runs, 2.98 ERA, 9-1 record, 60 Ks 

Quick Hit: At the plate, Fitzgerald led the Lady Blue Devils’ in RBIs, while in the circle, she led the team and area in wins and strikeouts. 

P – Blayne Godfrey, Danville High School, eighth grade 

Stats: 1.36 ERA, 6-1 record, 56 Ks 

Quick Hit: Godfrey led the Lady Hawks in wins, ERA and strikeouts. She led the area in ERA.
