Brewer wins 5A Area 15 championship

FLORETTE – The Brewer Lady Patriots wrapped up their third area tournament title in the past four years with a 46-30 victory over Scottsboro. 

The teams battled through the first half, with Brewer holding an 11-8 lead after the first quarter and an 18-14 lead at the half. 

Brewer extended that lead to 32-26 following the third quarter. 

The fourth quarter belonged to the Lady Patriots, as they outscored Scottsboro 14-4 to close out the game. 

Brewer (19-11) was led by Leisha Steger, who scored 13 points. She hit three of the Lady Patriots six three-pointers. 

Hope West added 10 for the Lady Patriots. Jacie Andrews and Evaiah Burrows each had nine points. 

Scottsboro (13-15) was led by Carley Bell, who scored a game-high 16 points.
