Encore Classic: day one results

The Encore Classic Thanksgiving Tournament got started Saturday morning at Hartselle High School.

Ramsay 51, Hartselle 48: Hartselle opened play in the Encore Classic against Ramsay on Saturday evening.

The Lady Tigers held on to a 38-37 lead at the end of three quarters before being outscored 14-10 in the fourth as Ramsay pulled out the win.

Hartselle was led by Hailey Holshouser who finished with 20 points while Lillyanna Cartee added 12 points.

Ramsay was led by the trio of Kierra Griffin with 16, McKayla Lumpkin with 12, and Elisa Safford with 10.

Hartselle plays tonight at 8:00 pm against Sparkman.

Cold Springs 48, Priceville 41: Cold Springs jumped out to a 29-16 lead at halftime and held off a Priceville rally that cut the lead to four points heading into the fourth quarter.

Jenna Walker led Priceville with a game-high 23 points while Olivia Duran added seven.

Toni West led Cold Springs with 15 points with Neely Ellison pitching in 14.

Athens 36, Brewer 34: Athens, who trailed 20-14 at halftime, outscored Brewer 16-4 in the third quarter and held on to defeat Brewer in one of the best games of the opening day at Hartselle.

Athens was led by Alaina Taylor who scored a game-high 14 points. Kendra Smith had eight points, while Nahyriah Timmons added six.

Hope West led the Lady Patriots with 13 points and Evaiah Burrows added eight.

Fairview 55, Danville 44: Emma Broadfoot hit seven three-pointers as she scored a game-high 26 points in the Lady Hawks loss to Fairview.

Fairview held on to a three point lead at the half before pulling away late.

Madelyn Holliday added seven points for Danville while Lauren Hames had six.

Austin 48, Oak Mountain 31: Austin jumped out to a 26-11 lead at the half as they defeated Oak Mountain on Saturday.

Austin (4-2) was led by Ebonie Williams’ 10 points while Bri Hodges had eight and Korren Harris added six.

Oak Mountain was led by Abi Brown who had a game-high 15 points in the loss.

Mortimer Jordan defeated Huntsville 61-40

Cullman defeated Russellville 67-13

Hanceville defeated Clements 56-29

Good Hope defeated West Limestone 61-51

St. John Paul II defeated Hatton 35-34
