Louise Sivley Bogue
Birmingham
Graveside funeral service and interment for Louise Sivley Bogue, 97, was March 7, immediately following her visitation, at Falkville City Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bogue died March 4 at The Oaks at Parkwood in Bessemer. She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Morgan County to Duard Sanford Sivley and Greta Davis Sivley.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Austin Plemmons, and a sister, Jean Trimm Taylor.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda “Lynn” Haney (her favorite son-in-law-Craig); daughter- in-law, Suzanne Drinkard Plemmons; one grandson, Ryan Haney (Christina); four granddaughters, Jennifer Neely (Mitchell), Patty Blair (Dennis), Pilar Fotta (Tom) and Kelly Esquibel; three great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; and her devoted caregiver, Jackie Crear Jowers.

 

James Edward Borden
Hartselle
Funeral service for James Edward Borden, 78, was March 7 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Caudell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Mt Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Borden died March 4 at his residence. He was born Sept. 16, 1940, in Morgan County to Thurston James Borden and Hester Viola Dugger Borden, who preceded him in death.
James was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed by 3M Company as a leadman and chemical operator for 34 years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Ruth Borden; three sons, James Ellis Borden (Anita), Michael Ferguson (Sandie) and Lance Ferguson (Wanda); one daughter, Deborah Purcell (Charles); sons in heart, Bryan and Barry Rabon; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mike McCaghren, Danny Voss, Joe Forton, Steve Hurley, Shannon Ferguson and Walter Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were nephews.

 

Carrie Esther Cottingham
Hartselle
Funeral service for Carrie Esther Cottingham, 99, was March 8 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Eaton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Cottingham died March 5 at her residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Morgan County to Luther Noble and Ida Lindsey Noble. She was a wonderful wife. mother, grandmother and homemaker, who loved her family dearly. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence Cottingham, and a son, Dwight Cottingham. Survivors include one son, Roger Cottingham (Dana); daughter-in-law, Gloria Jean Cottingham; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

page1image1577433600Funeral service for Roxie Lang, 65, was March 9 at 12:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Craye Hall officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Valhermoso Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Lang died March 5 at her daughter’s residence. She was born June 7, 1953, in Dunklin County, Missouri, to William Jefferson Bradley and Ottis Clytee Wigginton Bradley. She was an assembler for Sanmina-SCI prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lang; a brother, Doug Bradley; and her parents. Survivors include her husband, Terry Lang; two sons, Terry Lang Jr. (Candy) and Tony Lang; one daughter, Lisa Lang (Teri Fleming); one brother, Ronnie Bradley; seven sisters, Rosie Motes, Polly Smith, Mary Ester Whittaker, Ellaruth Sutton, Marie Bailey, Nancy Crawford and Bobbie Sue Frazier; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were James Lang, Larry Lang, Roger Bolden, Earl Pendley, Jacob Lockamy and Thomas Graves.

 

Cindy Marie “Sally” McLemore
Decatur
Funeral service for Cindy Marie “Sally” McLemore, 61, was March 12 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Ms. McLemore died March 7 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born July 28, 1957, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Marlin Leroy McLemore and Betty Gustafson McLemore. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and aunt, taken from her family too soon.
Survivors include her parents, Marlin Leroy and Betty Gustafson McLemore; one brother, Marland Eugene McLemore; one sister, Betty Jean German (William); nephew, David Croford, (Shannon); and nieces, Aubrey and Sophia.
Pallbearers were Marvin King, Randy Brown, Logan Barkley, Tab Barkley, Ken Garner and Stephen Kilpatric.

Larry Dale Hardin
Falkville
Mr. Larry Dale Hardin passed away March 7 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham.
He was born June 28, 1956, in Morgan County to L.D. Hardin and Nancy Ricks Hardin. He was an assistant manager for Walmart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betsy Hardin Manous.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Wayne Hardin, Timothy McElyea and Randy Miller; three daughters, Candy Taylor, Crystal Hardin and Cynthia Hardin; one sister, Sue Eckles; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

 

Olivia Emerson Alred
Hartselle
Funeral service for Olivia Emerson Alred, age 6, of Hartselle, was March 11 at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Lawrence County with Bro. Steve Ledbetter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Miss Alred was laid in state for one hour at the church prior to the service.

Miss Alred was born Aug. 2, 2012 in Tennessee to Jonathan Alred and Emily Hill Alred. She died March 9 at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.
Survivors include her parents, Jonathan and Emily Alred; one brother, Henry Alred; and her grandparents, Tony and Teresa Hill, Tammy and Doug Moss and Danny Alred.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

 

Katherine Speegle Foote
Hartselle
Funeral service for Katherine Speegle Foote, 87, will be March 13 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cliff Tomlinson and Bro. Phillip Hardin officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be March 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Foote died March 9 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born April 9, 1931, in Cullman County to Richard Franklin Speegle and Emma Roberson Speegle. She was employed as an LPN for Pineview Hospital prior to retirement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her husband Willie B. Foote, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank Laverne Byrd and Helen Seay for their loving care and also a special thanks to the staff at Summerford Nursing Home.
Survivors include bitwo sons, Norman Foote (Raymonda) and Steve Foote (Christine); one brother, Edwin Speegle (Paulette); two sisters, Louree Cason and Geraldine Bates (Arnold); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren.

 

Helen Miller Higdon
Decatur
Funeral service for Helen Miller Higdon, 83, will be March 13 at 6 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.D. Thorn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Higdon died March 9 at her residence. She was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Morgan County to William Clyde Miller and Verna Vester Campbell Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Higdon; her parents; and two brothers, Pruitt and Gary Miller.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Higdon (Mary) and Michael Higdon (Karen); two daughters, Sandra Higdon Goodwin (Anthony) and Rhonda Higdon; one sister, Elaine Cobble; seven grandchildren, Robin Brewer, Chad Collins, Christopher Higdon, Megan Tucker, Heather Owens, Chad Childers and Casey Goodwin; and four great-grandchildren, Mason Brewer, Dallas Brewer, Trevor Brewer and Luke Brewer.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Kindred Hospice or to the Gideons International.
