Kroger to celebrate expansion, ribbon cutting Jan. 30
Kroger will celebrate the re-grand opening of its store in Hartselle Jan. 30 at 7 a.m. A special ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 9 a.m. The store has undergone significant remodels during the last several months.
“We are looking forward to our re-grand opening celebration,” said Cedric Mansell, store manager at the Hartselle Kroger. “The customers have been very patient during the remodel process, and we think they will be pleased with what we now have to offer them.”
Features of the remodeled store include several quick and easy meal solutions like newly added The Chicken Co. which offers fried, baked or roasted chicken with delicious side options. This location also offers the convenience of store pickup now through online ordering as well as Kroger Ship to Home. Customers can place their orders by going to Kroger.com. A Kroger Fuel Center is also being added to this location and is expected to open soon.
The first 300 customers at the store beginning 7 a.m. Jan. 30 will receive coupons for free breakfast items. The free items include orange juice, sausage, a dozen eggs and bakery donuts. Drawings for $300 Kroger gift cards will also be held at the store at 8 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Customers must be present to win.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Kroger will make a $2,000 contribution to the Meals on Wheels program of the Community Action Partnership. These funds will help provide meals to the elderly and disabled in the Hartselle area. This gift aligns with the Kroger Company’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste plan. Through this initiative, Kroger is committed to ending hunger in the communities where they operate and eliminating waste in the company by 2025.
“More than 40 percent of the food produced in the U.S. each year goes unconsumed while 1 in 8 Americans struggle with hunger with many of those being children,” said Melissa Eads, corporate affairs manager for the Kroger Nashville division. “We are committed to doing something about it and supporting local organizations like this is one way we can do that.”
Hartselle High School will also be recognized during the ribbon cutting ceremony. The school has earned more than $6,000 in the last year through the Kroger Community Rewards program.
