Heroes in Hartselle

For the past 25 years, some of the members of the Charlie Company First and Seventh Air Cab Division have been meeting. The Vietnam Veterans and their wives travel from all over the United States to make the yearly meetings.

Sept. 26, the veterans gathered in the home of John and Gloria Garrison in Hartselle. The meetings serve as a chance to catch up and share stories. Two of the men were part of the Tet Offensive during their time in Vietnam, and several also fought in A Sầu Valley. “These guys lost a lot of their company,” Gloria said.

Those that were able to attend travelled from Louisiana, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas. The meetings started with a few members in Florida, and quickly grew as more were found and invited.
