A Decatur High school student recently signed to play volleyball and basketball for the Huntingdon Hawks at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

Since junior high, Hannah Berry played volleyball and basketball, and she served as captain of both teams at Decatur High School. She was also an honor student.

Sports is in Berry’s family. She is the only girl of five brothers, according to her mother, Kari Thompson. Her brother, Ben Berry, is an offensive lineman at DHS, and Jake Berry, another brother, played in semi-pro arena football.

“We’re excited to see her play at the next level, but it’s kind of sad to let her go,” Thompson said. “This is definitely a well-deserved recognition for Hannah.”
