Funeral for Jerome (J.) Cawley, 71, of Decatur will be Sun., Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, with Bro W.A. Smith officiating and Vance Memorial Chapel directing.

Burial will be in Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery in Smiths. Visitation will be Fri, Dec. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home and also, at Vance Memorial Chapel on Sat., from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 27, 2014.

Mr. Cawley died Tues., Dec. 23, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 3, 1943, in West Point, Ga., to Angus Cawley and Dolores McDurmont Cawley. Mr. Cawley was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in Priceville. He was a 1961 graduate of Smith Station High School in Smiths, and was an avid Alabama Football Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lloyd Cawley; a son, Nick J. Cawley (Beth); a brother, Terry Cawley; brother-in-law, Gene Lloyd (Judy); sisters-in-law, Linda Cawley, Sandra Tillery (Andy), Carolyn Lozada, Kathy Coggins (Steve); grandchildren, Katie Smith, Emily Cawley and Aldin Jerome (A.J.) Cawley; and several nieces and nephews.
