DANVILLE – Lynsie Lamitie led the Brewer Lady Patriots to a 79-49 thumping of Hartselle to win the school's sixth Morgan County Championship in the last seven years.
"The girls did a good job," head coach Ricky Allen said. "We were sick for about a week, but we had six days from our last game until our first game in the county tournament. That really helped out."
Jessica Thompson, who was named the tournament's MVP, scored 23 points, including six three pointers.
Brewer led by 16 points at halftime and never looked back en route to the 30-point victory.
Two Lady Tigers scored in double figures, including Regan Sandlin with a team-high 19 points, and Shan Jones, who scored 14 points.
Named to the 2002-2003 All-Morgan County Team are Lynsie Lamitie, Brittany Walker and Jessica Thompson (Brewer), Beth Vest, Jada Jones and Meagan Wiley (Falkville), Shan Jones, Ashley Orr and Regan Sandlin (Hartselle), Angel Orr (Danville), and Shantia Bell (West Morgan).
