Jeremiah David Higgins

A celebration of life service for Jeremiah David Higgins, 27, of Portage, Ind. was Saturday, May 23, at Center Grove Baptist Church in Cullman County with Charles Crawford officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery near Falkville.
Mr. Higgins was born March 16, 1982, to Leonard Higgins and Cynthia Higgins. He came to know the Lord about four years ago. A year ago he moved to an area that was known for violence and drugs because that was what God had put on his heart to do, so he might help someone else come to know his Lord. On Friday, May 15, 2009, he was fatally shot in his home while trying to help a friend.
He is survived by his parents, Leonard and Cynthia Higgins of Cullman; a brother, Joshua Higgins of Cullman; a sister, Jessica Higgins of Cullman; three aunts, Linda Kreighpaum of Falkville, Karen Zuch and Karen Bubala, both of Ind.; five uncles, Donald Oden of Oden Ridge, Larry Oden of Kouts, Ind. and Dan Higgins, Pat Higgins and Mike Higgins, all of Indiana.
