Hill, Fields exchange vows
Katherine Elizabeth Hill of Hartselle and Judson Roy Fields of Spartanburg, SC were wed April 11, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Hartselle Fine Arts Center.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hill of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Fields of Spartanburg, SC.
Rev. Junior Hill, the bride’s grandfather, performed the ceremony.
The altar was decorated with candles, greenery and a large cross built by the groom in loving memory of his grandparents. The auditorium was decorated with hydrangea, ivy and roses.
The bride’s gown was an ivory strapless gown with a trumpet silhouette and semi-cathedral length train. It featured beaded Alencon lace appliques hand sewn onto point d’esprit and a ruched sweetheart neckline. Her royal cathedral veil of French illusion was edged in re-embroidered Alencon lace and delicately garnished with lace appliques’. She carried the pearl covered Bible her mother carried on her wedding day with a bouquet of lisianthus, hydrangea and garden roses in shades of pink
Kelley Hill of Hartselle was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kendra Buckles, Dallas, Texas; Ashley Floyd, Birmingham; Elizabeth Fields, Spartanburg, SC; Maggie Hendrix, Fultondale; Mandy Phillips, Hartselle; Amy Reynolds, Hartselle; Janice Sims, Hartselle; Julia Rose Tyler, Fletcher, NC; Brooke Watford, Ridgeland, Miss.
The bridesmaids’ dresses were a strapless tissue taffeta A- line silhouette ball gown in a rose color. They had a wide ivory sash that accentuated the natural waist. Their flowers were hydrangea and roses. They wore matching pearls.
Molly Johnson of Hartselle was flower girl.
Boin Fields, the groom’s nephew, of Spartanburg, SC, was ring bearer. He was assisted by honorary attendant Julianna Pike, the bride’s cousin.
Jeff Fields, the groom’s father, of Spartanburg, SC was best man.
Groomsmen were: Jordan Davis, Spartanburg, SC; Jeffrey Fields, the groom’s brother, of Spartanburg, SC; Jon Fields, the groom’s brother, of Lexington, SC; Patrick Harmon, Raleigh, NC; Matthew Hill, the bride brother, Bradenton, Fla.; Steven Hill, Spartanburg, SC; Hudson Neely, Nashville, Tenn.; Matthew West of Spartanburg, SC
Music was provided by Connie Speegle, pianist; Dana Starnes, classical guitar; soloists – Tim Mills, “The Lord’s Prayer,” Jon Fields, “Surely the Presence of the Lord” and a duet by Matt Reynolds and Dana Starnes, “The Prayer.”
The reception at the Harselle Fine Arts Center followed the ceremony.
The bride’s cake was a white cake with ivory icing that matched the bride’s china pattern. The bride’s new initials graced the side of the cake and was topped with a Cindrella and Prince Charming “Fairy Tale Wedding” sculpture. The table was covered with a full skirt and topped with sheer fabric embroidered with doves and lined with pink. There was a single Boehm Porcelain True Love Rose in pink.
The groom’s cake was served at the rehearsal dinner. It was a red velvet cake with decorations representing the state of South Carolina.
Leta Fern Bickers, the bride’s aunt, was wedding director.
Bonnie Pike, the bride’s cousin, of Hartselle, attended the bride’s book.
Tiffany Tyler, the bride’s cousin of Fletcher, NC, distributed programs. Julianna Pike of Hartselle, passed out Cinderella slippers filled with bird seed.
After a honeymoon trip to Hot Springs, NC, the couple will reside in Kannapolis, NC.
