Hartselle sweeps Decatur, Hazel Green

Hartselle High School’s volleyball team won back-to-back matches in a tri-match at home on Oct. 2.

The Lady Tigers easily defeated Decatur 25-12, 25-10 and got by Hazel Green 25-17, 25-19.

Hartselle’s Taylor Lybarger led the way against Decatur by scoring 11 kills, three digs and three aces and an assist. Taylor Dellinger had 10 kills, nine digs and a pair of aces. Melissa Paul Hill added 19 assists, four digs and three kills. Haley Jared had three kills, three aces, a block and a pair of digs.

Sarah Ellen Battles had six digs, an ace and an assist. Tori Denslow had a kill, an assist, a block and a dig. Tori Miller added four digs, an ace and an assist. Claire Forsythe had a pair of digs, a block and an assist and Katy Beth Bole had a pair of kills.

Against Hazel Green, Dellinger led the way for the Lady Tigers with nine kills, five digs and a pair of aces. Lybarger scored six kills, five digs, two assists and an ace.

Jared had five kills, three digs and two blocks. Hill added 20 assists, five digs, two blocks, an ace and a kill. Battles had five aces and three digs. Miller had five digs and Bole had a kill.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Danville on Thursday to take on Muscle Shoals and the host Lady Hawks.
