Funeral for Stella Wilhite Legg, 99, of Falkville was Friday, Mar.13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hicks officiating.
Burial was in Wilhite Cemetery.
Mrs. Legg died Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born August 29, 1909, in Morgan County to James Alford Wilhite and Audrey Tucker Wilhite. She attended Anon Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Prior to that she was an active member of Falkville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Legg; two sons, Lewis Legg and Luther Legg; a grandson, Larry Paul Stinson; and a granddaughter-in-law, Belinda Layton Thurman.
She is survived by a son, Carl Legg of Cullman; two daughters, Ruth Cottrell and Ethel Morris, both of Falkville; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Frank Thurman, Steve Legg, Wayne Legg, Dickie “J.R.” Legg, Brandon Hill and Martin Legg.
