Funeral for Donald Eugene Boggs, 70, of Brent, was Wednesday, July 24, at 3 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Redfearn Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Boggs died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at his residence. A native of Illinois, he was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He was the widower of Lottie Lane Boggs and the stepfather of the late Margaret Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean (Nix) Boggs of Brent; one son, Greg Boggs of Hartselle; two daughters, Donna Mayfield of Maplesville and Shari Ryan of Danville; two step sons, Chuck Nix and Tim Nix, both of Cottondale; three step daughters, Charlene Davis of Duncanville, Sharon Stewart of Tuscaloosa and Teresa Griffin of Cottondale; four sisters, Mary Francis Mullenix of New Bern, NC; Nadiene Fontenot of Alvin, Tex, and Marilyn Latham and Eleanor Stephens, both of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren; and nine step grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Fred Lindley, Charles Sanford, Rethal Hightower, Charles Nolan, Fred Hembree and Mike Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of West Hartselle Baptist Church.
