Funeral for Randall Roberts, 55, of Cotaco was Wednesday, June 25, at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastors Harlon Hood and Charles Owens officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The eulogy was given by Kenneth Roberts.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Roberts died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 4, 1953, in Georgia to Otto Claude Roberts and Sarah Louise Cross Roberts. He was a maintenance worker for the Morgan County School System and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served with A Co., 10th Combat Engineering Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He loved talking and meeting new people. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Roberts and Lloyd Roberts and a sister, Pat Roberts Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Brewer Roberts of Cotaco; a son, Mickelin Lee Roberts of Cotaco; a daughter, Randi Marie Roberts of Huntsville; three sisters, Maxine Roberts Lahr of Concord, N.C., Betty Roberts Grantland of Cotaco and Vicky Roberts Couey of Somerville; and many nieces, nephews, great -nieces and great- nephews.
Pallbearers were Dan Breeding, T.D. Clemons, Jerrold Couey, Stanley Roberts, Mike Bader, Jerry Grantland, Jimmy Scott and Doug Townsend.
Honorary pallbearers were Campbell Roberts and Dwight Jones.
