Falkville VFW honors Rowe as Teacher of the Year

Frances Rowe, reading enrichment teacher at Falkville High School, was recognized as “Teacher of the Year” by Falkville VFW Post 10774 at a Loyalty Day/Awards program on Saturday.
The honoree received an engraved plaque and a $300 cash award.
Earlier, she was recognized as the state’s “Teacher of the Year” at the mid-winter Conference of Alabama’s Veterans of Foreign Wars in Huntsville. To commemorate that honor, she received an engraved plaque and a $1,000 cash award.
Rowe’s education career spans 34 years. She teaches seventh and eighth grade reading enrichment at Falkville High School. She also serves as faculty sponsor for the senior class and Student Government. She began her career at F.E. Burleson Elementary School, where she taught for two years, and taught at Danville High School for10 years.
Rowe will also be recognized for the honor and presented another plaque at the May 22 meeting of the Morgan County Board of Education.
